You are cordially invited to attend the 2009 KNITTING RETREAT IN
THE MOUNTAINS sponsored by Carol's Yarn Shop. The retreat is being
held at Will O' the Wisp Resort on beautiful Deep Creek Lake, MD.
March 6, 7, 8, 2009. This year's guests are:
KATHY ZIMMERMAN! Kathy is an accomplished knitter, teacher and
nationally-recognized knitwear designer. She is the owner of Kathy's
Kreations, a yarn shop specializing in quality handknitting yarns
and accessories. Her designs are currently featured in Knitters,
Knit Simple, Interweave Knits, Knitscene and Vogue Knitting magazines.
She is best known for her designs featuring textures and cabled
stitchwork patterns and designs for Classic Elite, Nashua and Kraemer
Yarns. Kathy will teach a cabled scarf that she designed and named
for the "Deep Creek Knitters"!
Dancing Leaf Farm- Dalis Davidson. Dalis will teach her own
pattern for a side to side vest and will bring a large selection
of her vibrantly hand dyed yarns to sell. This workshop will take
you from choosing the various yarns and using different stitches.
Shadyside Farm
where the shepherdess fulfils a long felt passion
for sheep and wool and its art. Deborah Arbuckle, with her husband
David, makes yarn and tends sheep on their southwestern Pennsylvania
farm. Deb will not be teaching this year but she will bring her
latest selection of yarn to sell.
Needle Felting class taught by Carolyn Collen-Dubose and Dawn Chase.
This year's project will be a "Father Christmas" and will
include a complete kit!
OR
Marilyn McCain - Deep Creek's most famous knitter! Marilyn will
be teaching a class for those who would rather not do needle felting.
She will offer helpful hints, finishing techniques, and also be
willing to assist if you have an unfinished project that you need
help with.
MORE DETAILS ON ALL OF THE ABOVE WILL BE SENT OUT IN FEBRUARY!
Since I am closing my yarn shop and moving I will also bring a
lot of yarn to be sold and half price!
