Knitting Workshop

We'll be knitting a side-to-side vest with novelty yarns. Confused about this pattern but always wanted to try one? This workshop will take you from choosing various yarns, (colors and textures), using different patterning and getting you started on this great vest. This is a good project to use up bits and pieces.
Experience Level: Basic knitting (knit and purl) required.
What to bring: pen, paper, size 9 circular needles (at least 24" long), scissor, any yarn you might want to use. I will have all supplies for sale.

Dye Workshop

Color is good for the spirit! Learn the magic of hand painting color onto yarn and fleece using washfast acid dyes (rainbow dyeing). A fully hands-on workshop, you'll pick your own colorway and learn how to apply the rich colors with the direct application method. We'll also dye wool roving with the immersion technique. Additional topics: color theory, hue and color gradation, protein and vegetable fibers, novelty yarns, how to mix dyes to achieve the desired color, dye suppliers.
Students bring: rubber gloves, pen, note paper. Wear clothes you don't mind getting stained.

Fee: $40, includes materials (student can buy additional yarn). Reservations required with full payment.
