Crochet: the beginnings and more
So many patterns suggest a crocheted edge as part of
finishing the project, but you never mastered crochet. This class will
cover crochet basics; stitches, gauge, etc. We'll discuss how to read
crochet patterns and how to use some easy crochet methods for finishing
knitted items.
Bring a crochet hook with you, a size G, H or I is preferred or you can
purchase one at Dancing Leaf Farm

Hand
painted yarns demystified
All those beautiful colors and yarns, what do I do?
What do I knit? Where do I find a pattern? Can I mix colors and textures?
How?
This class will answer all there questions and more. Plan a great project
using that gorgeous hand paint you love so much. Have you purchased a
variegated or hand painted yarn and don't know what to make? Bring it
along and we'll work it out.
This class is a combination of discussion and hands-on work. Bring several
needles in a variety of sizes, a size 6, 9 and 13 would be good choices.

Sweaters
and other big projects
Afraid to take on something big? Want to join the hand knitted
sweater craze and don't know where to start? Or, have you found the perfect
pattern and are uncertain you could complete it? Or how about an afghan?
Always wanted one that looks great on the couch but can figure it all
out? Come to this class, we'll work it out and get you going.
This class will cover everything you need to get started and share some
secrets about how to get it done. Don't let a large project frighten you,
come to this class and learn how to tackle it and finish it.
Bring whatever you already have or find what you need in class.

I want to make.....
Take advantage of a unique opportunity to make something really
special with expert guidance available every step of the way. This knitting/crochet
intensive will span an entire month with a combination of formal classroom
time, drop-in assistance and regular email contact with the instructor
and additional meetings available on request. It's like having your own
personal knitting/crochet coach to help you every step of the way through
a project you have always wanted to take on but never felt sure you could
get through it alone.
Class will be limited to 5 students. Cost: $125.
First meeting Saturday, May 10 , 10 am to 1 pm
Drop in assistance Wednesday, May 21 4:30 to 6 PM
Final class (including fashion show of completed items) Saturday May 31,
10 am to 1 pm.
